SANRAKU restaurant was founded in 1989, specializing in first class quality Japanese cuisine. In 1992 they added their upscale “Sanraku Four Seasons” next door, including a new Sushi bar. Their restaurant earned them a 31/2 star rating in all categories and a two page laudatory review in San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner weekend Restaurant Review.

In the spring of 1999, they opened another Sanraku restaurant and Sushi bar in the new Sony Metreon Entertainment Building near Moscone Center.

The company policy is to continue to serve the highest quality Japanese food available, consisting only of fresh and quality ingredients. They strive to be Japan’s best ambassadors of its culinary arts and culture. Today, Japanese food is considered very popular among Europeans and Americans as well as Asians. As evidence, Sushi, Teriyaki Chicken, Tempura, and Noodle are already part of the English language. Japanese food is the culmination of a long culinary tradition resulting in a refined cuisine that has from time to time incorporated the best from dishes around the world, to create a unique and increasingly popular choice of savory and healthy delicacies.

There is another Sanraku restaurant on Sutter Street a few blocks away.
