An intimate, film noir-inspired cocktail bar and tavern, Burritt Room Tavern showcases progressive American cooking and hand-crafted cocktails. Named after the adjacent Burritt Alley, the bar and restaurant conjures images of the notorious setting where Miles Archer, partner of the famous detective Sam Spade, was gunned down in Dashiell Hammett’s Humphrey Bogart masterpiece, The Maltese Falcon. The bar, Burritt Room, pays homage to vintage cinematics with an inspired menu of artisan cocktails including the H. Belafonte (cantaloupe infused rum, aloe liquer, demerrere, lime) and Golden Child (gin, Cara Cara orange, artichoke barigole & mint) and offers live jazz six nights a week.

The restaurant, Burritt Tavern, brings you into a different world, where the romance of Union Square comes alive. The tavern’s walled-in and curtained booths create dark corners perfect for private conversation. Archived photos line the walls to tell the story of our historic location, time-lining Stockton Street from the 1880s to the 1950s. Indulge in innovative tavern-style cuisine, steaks and chops, incorporating seasonal locally-sourced ingredients from Northern California soils. Warm lighting and live music inspire you to linger as long as possible. With its atmospheric vibe, this intimate Union Square restaurant delivers a refreshing food and drink experience.
